New Projects at the University Pjazza

April 2017

With Summer just round the corner, Catermax kicked off a collaboration with The Food Faculty and Dr. Juice to bring fresh smoothies, juices and cold presses to the University Pjazza., Students, staff and visitors can now treat themselves to Dr Juice’s diverse range of healthy, natural products to add a little energy boost to their day.

Another exciting project is also underway as Catermax and The Food Faculty teamed up with Trackage Scheme to introduce the Live Stage at the University Pjazza – an initiative aimed at supporting local talent by providing a platform for up-and-coming artists to perform in front of thousands of people on a newly set up stage.

The Catermax team are big fans of street food, and this passion played a big part in the development our newest concept – SOLO Pasta e Pizza.

Featuring live tossed pasta and freshly baked pizza, SOLO will be making an appearance at various local events this Summer.

Catermax has been entrusted to set up a brand new contract catering restaurant.

Sporting a modern concept with a local flavour, the canteen will be serving fresh food and beverage to many in-house employees.

This competition provides an excellent platform for both upcoming and established local artists to showcase their talent before the nation, in the hopes of being chosen to represent Malta on the European stage.

The Catermax team, caterers at the Malta Fairs and Conventions Centre, managed numerous bars and stands at the event, serving food and drink to the thousands of spectators in attendance.

Catermax at the Malta International Airport – ‘Christmas Stalls’

The Malta International Airport entrusted Catermax to manage and run their Christmas Stalls in various areas of the airport during the festive period.

Passengers that were travelling from Malta International Airport had special Christmas treats as Catermax prepared aromatic warm mulled wine, festive punch, homemade mince pies and ginger bread cookies. Over 40,000 passengers enjoyed these delicious treats…what a great way to start your travels!

Il-Kċina at Kwalita Malta 2016

Now its second year, Kwalita Malta 2016 is a large fair that aims to serve as a platform for Maltese businesses to promote their products and services.

This year also saw the introduction of ‘il-Kċina’ – Catermax’s latest pop-up restaurant concept. Il-Kċina’s open kitchen layout allowed visitors to watch our expert chefs prepare a number of authentic Maltese dishes including a selection of dips and accompaniments, slow cooked rabbit, hand-carved pork and hand-rolled imqaret amongst others.

Fresher's Week at The Food Faculty

Fresher’s Week and Campus Fest

3rd – 7th October

This year’s Fresher’s Week inaugurated the reopening of Food Faculty, the University’s official canteen. This year, our team organised a series of daily food concepts that included a pasta bar, Asian, USA and Tex Mex, as well as Classic Fridays.

Students were also invited to order food at the Food Faculty outdoor stations that served pulled pork buns and Mexican burritos, fresh fruit smoothies, and artisanal coffees.

Catermax - Rockestra

Organised yearly in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund, Rockestra represents another fixed event on Malta’s events calendar and brings together an impressive line up of local artists along with musicians from the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra.

Catermax managed the entire food and operations contract for this large event, including running eight bars as well as a number of food stands.
