All the members of this Management Team have achieved highly successful careers in the industry and an excellent reputation as leaders within their respective fields.

Edward D’Alessandro

Chief Executive Officer. Edward D’Alessandro is a leading player in the catering industry. With over two decades of experience, Edward leads the Catermax team to deliver the best culinary services in Malta.

Edward graduated with a Diploma in Hotel and Catering from the School of Hotel, Catering and Tourism Studies in Malta in 1987. Since then he has successfully held a number of top level posts within the catering industry. His experience is vast and includes being responsible for over 1,000 international conferences, around 4,000 weddings and over 8,000 private events.

He has also overseen the catering for over 200 state dinners and around 200 other functions in connection with the Office of the Prime Minister. In 2005 he was responsible for the Commonwealth Heads of State catering service at the Mediterranean Conference Centre together with the Queen’s Banquet and the Heads of State Dinner at the Presidential Palace.

Jean Paul Pavia

Sales and Operations Executive. Jean Paul is a Sales and Operations Executive at Catermax, also working hand in hand with the company’s senior management. Jean’s key responsibility within the operation is the organization of events within the Local Corporate Scene, with daily responsibilities ranging from issuing quotes to following up on requests, contracting and reporting.


Reuben Miceli

Chef de Cuisine. Reuben Miceli he occupies the position of Chef de Cuisine. He has received a number of prestigious awards throughout his professional career, including the Gold Medal in the Junior Chef of the Year Competition 2006 and 2 Silver Medals during the Malta Kulinarja of 2007.


Stefan Hogan

Director for Food & Beverage at CHI Hotels & Resorts. Stefan Hogan currently serves as a Director for Food & Beverage at CHI Hotels & Resorts (CHI), the operating arm of the Corinthia Hotels brand and is the driving force behind a number of conceptual developments for new hotel restaurants in Abu Dhabi, St.Petersburg, Egypt, Rumania, Saudi Arabia and London. Mr. Hogan boasts vast experience in the management of high volume kitchens and dynamic F&B environments including 5 star hotel operations, flight catering and external catering.


Kevin Arpa

Chef at the Corinthia Hotel St. George’s Bay. Kevin Arpa currently holds the position of Executive Chef at the Corinthia Hotel St. George’s Bay and has won a string of awards throughout his career. Throughout the years he has received a total of 6 Gold, 16 Silver and 14 Bronze medals at the WACS Culinary competitions as well as various awards in local culinary competitions.


Anna Fenech

Tutor for Food Handlers. Anna Fenech is a licensed Pharmacist as well as a licensed Medical Laboratory Scientist; she is an approved tutor for food handlers by the Food Safety Commission (Malta).


Marvin Cortis

Operations Manager. Marvin Cortis is lead Operations Manager and has already established an excellent track record in this area. Marvin is responsible for all Food & Beverage operations as well as for the logistics of functions including the allocation of staff and preparation and handling of all function set-ups.


Ronnie Caruana

Group Head Pastry Chef . Ronnie Caruana is Catermax’s esteemed Head Pastry Chef. The multi-award winning chef has won numerous awards, including Best Overall Dessert, three Gold Medals and three Silver Medals at Le Salon Culinaire International De Malte 2007.


Keith Gatt

Group Head Chef . Keith Gatt is a renowned, award-winning chef whose culinary creations are very much sought after. Keith has occupied prominent positions in various five-star hotels both in Malta and overseas.


Rowena Spiteri

Executive Sales Manager. Rowena Spiteri is the Executive Sales Manager at Catermax, working hand in hand with the company’s senior management. Rowena’s key responsibility within the operation is the organisation of events and ensuring the smooth running of operations, with daily responsibilities ranging from issuing quotes to following up on requests, contracting and reporting. She is also in charge of the sales and co-ordination of local and foreign weddings.


Jose Da Silva

Director of Sales and Operations. Jose Da Silva is the driving force behind the company’s sales / operations team and has been employed in the catering industry for over 25 years. He has a great deal of experience both in the conference and incentive market, local corporate as well as overseas. Jose has also excelled in staff development training and quality assured programs. He also has extensive experience in the co-ordination of catering activities and in quality assurance processes, is well known for his excellent track record in strategic management planning. He is overall responsible for the Sales & Operations of Catermax and its team.


Diane Farrugia

Events Sales Executive. Planning for Perfection’ – a concept that is certainly a core belief of Events Sales Executive, Diane Farrugia, whose passion for organizing events was evident at a very early age. Indeed, Diane followed her heart into the dynamic world of event organization and managed to turn her passion into a career.

Diane’s journey started out at the University of Malta where she attained a Bachelor of Honors in Communications & Sociology, an achievement that paved the way towards her dream job and helped her get to where she is today.

Diane embarked on her career by working in one of the luxury five star hotels in Malta, the Corinthia Hotel – St. George’s Bay, where she occupied the role of Banquet Sales Coordinator, and was responsible for coordinating all events at the hotel. In July 2013, Diane was offered the position of Events Sales Executive at Catermax and, with great enthusiasm, has been striving to ensure that all client expectations are exceeded, ever since.

Diane’s passion for events is continuously growing; she is currently reading for a MSc in Events Management whereby she aims to learn all there is to know about the industry and to further her career with Catermax.
